So first thing’s first; here’s that video that’s been a week in the making:
I sorta thew it together last night directly off of a Flip Camcorder that is not actually mine and I really wish I had gotten more footage. I’ve learned a few things about how to work it, so the next time I cover an event the video should improve by leaps and bounds; plus I was editing this at like 1 a.m. this morning.
Now onto the important stuff.
Minecraft Launches Today
For those who have been following the epic journey of Minecraft from early on in Beta (or even Indev or Alpha) today is an amazing day. Today at Minecon 2011, Mojang has plans to release Minecraft 1.0 for PC and had plans to release Minecraft for iOS. I say had because, according to lead designer Markus (Notch) Persson’s personal blog “The Word of Notch,”
“Someone told me that Minecraft for iOS had accidentally been released early and that it was the second most grossing app. The original plan was to reveal it as a secret thing during the opening ceremony. A bit later, it was the top grossing app.”
Pretty impressive for an independent game, or for any game for that matter.
Minecraft is slated for release on PC later today.
