So I’ve been writing this research paper on the impact of video games on modern society and daily life and I was reading through the source that I had previously introduced, Steven L. Kent’s The Ultimate History of Video Games. According to the book Al Alcorn, one of the early leaders of Atari’s Research and Development, is quoted as saying that “Nolan” — referring to Nolan Bushnell. co-founder of Atari — “lived in Los Gatos in a very nice house on the hilltop with a hot tub out back. We had a board meeting in his tub.” This book also details the origins of other mythologies related to the video game industry including lax work environment and marijuana abuse.
I’m curious to see what else my reading unveils. For those interested, click here for the more information or just like, I don’t know, go to a library or something like that.
