It has been quite a while since my last post and I apologize; unfortunately my blogging and video game related activities must come behind my academics and my job. Because it has been a while, I want to start by catching everyone up.
So apparently while I was moseying through my enthusiasm for Skyrim, I had missed Notch’s announcement that Minecraft would be pushed back until 11/18/2011. This of course means that now I get to celebrate Minecraft twice.
In addition to Minecraft coming this Friday, we also had the launch of three games this past Tuesday. The release of Assasin’s Creed: Revelations, Halo:Combat Evolved Anniversary and Saint’s Row:The Third. I’m not much of a fan of the latter; I have not played any of the Saint’s Row series. However, the first two really interest me as I am currently following The Assassin’s Creed story and I have always — until recently — been a huge Halo fanatic. Unfortunately, I did not plan adequately and was unable to attend the launch event for these games — although I still have not uploaded footage from Skyrim’s launch — but nonetheless I am excited to play these titles even if it means that I have to borrow them from people in order to play them. On another note I talked to my brother today and he finally admitted that he missed working on our video game project that we havn’t been working on too much recently. The two of us spent some time earlier discussing the future of the project and we’re considering getting us some new people and speaking more about it over Thanksgiving break. We have great ideas developed, but we really want to start putting our ideas into reality and that requires us to refresh our skills.
I’ve also recently taken a huge interest in video game music. While I have always liked video game music, I very recently have started critically analyzing it. I guess this was mostly inspired by the Music in Film class that I am taking at the moment, but I like it analyzing it nonetheless. I’m also trying to work on some compositions for the above mentioned game project.
Finally, I’ve uploaded the video from the Skyrim launch to my computer and it should be online by the end of the week. I’ll post it whenever I get the chance.
Sorry for the long lapse in posts, I have been, and will likely continue to be, extremely busy.
