Hey everyone, it’s an interesting day. While sifting through the feeds I found something interesting regarding the Playstation Vita. I’m going to be perfectly honest; since looking back through Wiley’s 3DS Max and working heavily on the game I have really slipped off in the news. So, for those who are like me…
Tried to embed all of the video content into this post. They auto-played upon loading the page. It didn’t work out so well.
Personally I think the PS Vita looks very interesting. As an owner of a Nintendo DS and not a PSP I can say that I feel that the PSP still offers a more console-like gaming experience. I expect that this will mean that the PS Vita will be phenomenal for handheld users. Hell, in all honestly I’d play it if Sony tossed a free one my way. The Vita launches in Japan this weekend (December 17th,) but will not be available for purchase in the United States and UK until February 22.
Anyway, I think it is interesting, but I have no plans to purchase a Vita. For one, I have no money as it is. Secondly, any money I would get is better put, in my opinion, toward other things, like actually spending time with my girlfriend — she’s been dying for a date night.
Anyway, now that I feel stupid for being completely unaware of the PS Vita I think its time to embarrass myself further by saying, “Holy Crap! Ninja Gaiden 3 where have I been, under a rock?”
Let me go back for a moment. I never finished Ninja Gaiden II. It was a good game, wasn’t too hard. The blood drove me nuts. Not the quantity. Not the quality. The position. Ninja Gaiden II was played during a time of my life when I was first starting to truly understand game design and development. The blood doesn’t stick to the walls and the textures don’t always line up. Sometimes the gore hung over ledges or hovered away from the actual walls that it was supposed to “stick” to. Eventually I just got bored with it. I even passed through the armadillo thingy that explodes (by the way, when you kill it you just have to run like hell and hope you win. That was a fun boss to figure out.) I am serious though, I honestly think the blood texture problems were so bad that It made me quit the game more than halfway through.
I think I’m going to do a full play through of Ninja Gaiden II, just so I can say I did. Apparently not a lot of people have beat it, and the sequel is about to come out.
Finally, for those who have been waiting. Star Wars: The Old Republic (Bioware’s Star Wars MMORPG) launches December 12th, 2011. According to the official The Old Republic Website Early Game access has begun. Preorders are now available and I am excited to see what this MMO does. I watched my brother play the beta and honestly I was impressed, although I cannot vouch for game-play. I do know there is no auto-attack and that the story is pretty awesome, so go check it out and let me know all about it.
